Second Majalis Recited By Moulana Jaffer Banglori
Moulana Banglori Second moharram 2005
Yesterday we discussed the first few ayats of the surah Jumah. In this ayat Allah is stating that He has raised among the residents of medina a prophet. He recites the ayat of Allah and purifies them and teaches them about the book when they were misguided earlier. This Prophet's relation is only with Allah and is independent of the things of this world. The messenger is the responsibility of the person who has sent the messenger. Allah takes the responsibility that he is sending the prophet. He then describes that which the Prophet will do a) recite the Ayat b) purify the soul c) teach the Quran. This is not by accident. The order is important. Allah states that first the Quran will be recited to you then if you purify your soul then you are capable of learning the Quran. This is similar to the way in which you teach the children. You make them read the Quran then you try to purify the soul. If you bring your children to the center they come with the intent of playing. If you stop this then they will not come. You come to the center in a similar fashion for your hereafter and for the Bibi who is there in the center for the majalis of Hussain.
The Prophet states that he is the first one who heard the ayat of the Quran and saw the Wahi of Allah and heard the scream of shaitan. The souls in front of the Prophet are those sho have not seen a Prophet since Jesus. They just had the awsiah and their job is not to teach or spread Islam just to protect it. The one who protects Islam does not try to destroy the enemies of religion. Only the family of Abdul Muttalib remained as awsiah when the Prophet came. Even in this family there were some who were misguided. The Prophet took the help of only Abu Talib as he realized that he is the only one who can be of help. The Prophet went and sought help from Abu Talib as he knew that this man alone could protect him from the kaffirs. Abu Talib did not use the sword just 'viqar'. That is he used his personality and as a result of this the Prophet's enemies did not even raise their eyes in front of him. The Prophet's enemies came to Abu Talib and offered wealth and women and asked him to stop his nephew from cursing their gods. There are two other types of marraige hiba and kaneezi. The Prohet has shown us this in his life. There was a time when it was felt that the husband should be at least 7 to 9 years older than the wife. This was because the boy and girl reach maturity at different times. Now in today's time both partners are of the same age. She will not respect him as he is not older and is also not more economically sound. Islam by recommending the age difference has tried to protect the society. The Prophet has married only two women Bibi Khadija and ----. The other women he married were widows of men killed in battle. Umm E Habibi the daughter of Abu Sufiyan helped spread Islam. She pulled out the Prophets bed from below her father stating that he is a kuffar when he came to visit her in the Prophets house. If the Prophet had not married the widows of battle then these unmarried women would have led to problems with society. Abu Talib and the Prophet knew each other very well. When the prophet refused to marry the women the kuffar brought they presented a young man in exchange for the Prophet, Abu Talib refused. In Indonesia people are objecting to adoption. Abu Talib did not object when the Prophet adopted Imam Ali. In addition he sent his other son Jaffar. The Prophet was preaching among the Arabs but he never created an army of Islam. The Prophet took his small caravan to preach Islam stating 'Say La Ilaha Ilah Lah and you will succeed. In this time if you stated that Allah is one this was adequate. When Imam Reza stopped in Nishapur he stated the Prophet has stated that if you accept Alah is one then you will come into a fort from which he will be protected from the wrath of Allah. The Prophet was alone but none dared to step forward to challenge him. This was because all had seen that the Prophet never bowed before an idol in his life. All messages that the Prophet sent as messenger would have the same properties. This is why the prophet called back the first messenger and sent Imam Ali to recite the surah E Baraat.
All of claim to say the truth but do we even speak truth to ourselves. If we were truthful to ourselves we would never sin. Had we made a habit of being truthful to ourselves and counted the minutes spent on ourselves and the time spent thanking Allah we would not be able to sleep. A person asked the Prophet what is deen? The reply was manners. The man repeated this question from the right side, the left side and from behind the Prophet. The reply was manners. He who has good manners has good deen.
We have two things that which is seen and that which is hidden. That which is seen is the body and the people who cure the body are tabeeb (doctors). Imam Ali has state that do not make your stomach the graveyard of dead animals. Shrimp is makrooh and now we know that this raises cholesterol. The shariat asks us to eat salt and the doctors ask us to refrain from salt. If you look at the salt in medina it is not the salt from the sea but salt mined from the earth. The shariat asks us to use this salt and perhaps this is chemically different.
I knew a person who was quite irritable and I was told that he does not eat meat. The Prophet asks us to eat meat at least once ini 40 days and i request the muslims of today not to eat meat at least once every 40 days.
There are two types of knowledge. The knowledge of bodies (chemistry, physicis etc). The most superior knowledge is that of Allah. This is in the second type of knowledge (ilm e adiyaan). If a man is prone to temper then the man is sent to a psychiatrist and when he is tired then the person is sent to the mosque. Why is this? This is because this is the only place where the person wmay find a cure. The true healer is Allah or his representative. Allah has given us the instinct of hunger that makes us fulfil that which we need to exist this is the nafs e ammara. The nafs e lawwama stops us from eating. You see people in this world who keep eating all the time. The Prophet has also pointed out such people. Shariat asks us to discipline the body of man. you can teach animals similarly for example you can teach the dog to eat at a particular time by disciplining it. The Prophet has repeatedly stated that he was afraid if he left then people may go back to their old ways. We are told that if we do not pray at a particular time then we will be punished. The model person for manners is the Prophet and Allah states that he has made the Prophet a rehmat for the universe. The Quran states that oh prophet if you have a harsh heart then these people will move away from you. Love is a door through which the ayat of Alah comes to you. When Gibraeel came to the Prophet stating that Allah has given permission to punish the people and the Prophet stated that they don’t know me.
Parents should love their children and they will follow their parents. They sit just as their parents do. They follow their parents. The person who leaves a legacy is the true person. The Prophet has left examples behind him Salmaan,Abu Zar etc. There were some whose manners were exactly as that of the Prophet and he stated of them that Iam from Ali and he is from me and similarly Hussain is from me and I am from Hussain. The soul wants us to say salaat but the body is complaining of aches and pain. When we do not follow the nafs completely what of this. Shariat states cure ourself. Shariat states that even if you are unable to do the physical attributes of the salat if you desire to pray it will be accepted. If you have the niyaat or desire then this is the essence of prayer. All those around the prophet knew how long he took to do his prayer and when the prayer started they would leave for the market and return before the prayer finished. They prayed a prayer of force the force of peer pressure not that of the prophet. None know the niyaat of the person. The Prophet has stated that there is a great difference bwteen the niayaat of those standing next to each other in salaat. The Prophet thus had made it obligatory to love the Ahle Bait this is because if you love them then you will follow their manners. The manners the Prophet spread during his life were distributed by Imam Ali after 25 years of patience. He had to fight battles and these are different battles. Those who fought the prophet were kaffirs and those who fought Imam Ali were muslims. Look at siffin, neharwaan. The Prophet made the external foundations of Islam and Imam Ali reinforced the internal dissent in Islam. he fought against those people who stated that you do not need the Prophet just the book and these people are represented by the wahabi now. We should complain about these people and not the non muslims. Imam hussain left Medina stating that he is not going to return to medina. Abbas was preparing the animals for the journey. A girl runs bak and forth stating please ask my father to take me with him. The Imam stated that you will not come with us but stay in Medina. This is perhaps becasue she looked just like bibi Fatima in appearance. Imam Hussain went toward kerbala. His grandmother stopped him from going (Umm e Salma) he then showed her the places in Karbala where the hands of Abbas would be cut the place where Imam Hussain would be killed. he gave her a fist of dirt and told her that if this turns red then think that I have been killed. Hazrat Abbas cleared the place and then a Bibi was brought to her transportation with great honor by each of her family members. There was one bibi who was helped by Hazrat Abbas and this was Umm e Kulsoom. The Bibi who was helped by Imam Hsusain, Abbas and 18 Bani Hashim and was taken to ther transport by them with great honor. This was sani e zehra Zainab. Bibi This was mediina but on Sham E Gharib Zainab would be alone on the battlefield ----
